I highly recommend this book!!! It has an incredibly important message and I really think everyone should read it. It’s not a book you just read for fun and forget about one day after you’ve finished it, because this book sticks to your head. Reading the novel will make you sad, it might make you feel uncomfortable and in some parts you will wish that you could do something, even though you realize that this is a book of fiction.

 

I also like books that teach me something, and there is a lot to learn in ”A Thousand Splendid Suns”. I knew women had an appalling time living under the Taliban regime, but I didn't realize how horrible the conditions really were until I read this book and I think its great that problems like this gets observed and written about.

 

However I have to admit that the first half of the book were pretty slow and boring. It wasn’t until the other half of the book that you really got stuck. But once you were stuck, it was very hard to let go of the book, and that must be the definition of a good book.

 

This is a very descriptive, well written story, you can feel & sense the characters lives. Hosseini really is an amazing writer and I really think it’s fantastic that he can teach so many thinks while also telling a wonderful story.
