Forth blog post - The Exorcist

There are two different kinds of major conflict going on in the book. Father Karras and Chris Macniel. The other is between a demon and Regan. The first conflict where Chris tries to convince Karras that an exorcism is the only way to cure Regan while Karras, at first, insists that it's actually something psychological going on like schizophrenia. Eventually "Regan" begins to perform supernatural actions and Karras can no longer believe it's even an unusual illness. The conflict between Regan and the demon "Pazuzu" is abit more complicated. Pazuzu is in control of Regans body, her speech and he can perform supernatural actions while possessing Regan. Regan has little control over this but she does show signs that she isn't actually doing all this by herself. She tries to call out for help while her body sleeps for example. During the first part of the book Regan is in control of her body when pazuzu hasn't fully possessed her yet but it gets worse and worse and that's why it takes so much time for everyone to actually believe that she's possessed and doesn't just seek attention from her busy mother.
