The War of The Worlds Blog 4
The most obvious conflict in “The War of The Worlds” is of course between the people of earth and the martians. The martians invaded earth and started the biggest conflict possible. This is without a doubt the main conflict, but there’s also several smaller(internal) one’s. For example one of the men the narrator meets along his journey. They are “friends” to begin with, but after a while of being together the narrator starts to dislike him. This after that they’ve been hiding from the martians in the basement of a house for a few days.
The situation the people are put in can be very hard to handle and this book describes that very well and detailed. Especially when they’re pressured to hide in small areas with people they’ve never met before. That can be very stressful to do and for the narrator very hard. Even though he can’t stand the other man he must keep hiding if he wants to live.
