In The Kite Runner there are many conflicts. There are external conflicts where there is betrayal, sacrifice and atonement where each character has to face them physically, mentally and emotionally and there are also internal conflicts in the book. In there external there is a major conflict involving Amir and Baba who are both seeking redemption for their sins, such as Baba betrayed his closest childhood friend, Ali, by sleeping with his wife and Amir betraying Hassan by not helping him when he needed him the most. the kites flying is a good metaphor for the war that is going on in Afghanistan war is another conflict regarding religion and status.
In the internal conflicts there is amir feels guilty about what he has done to Hassan he is jealous of Hassan he wants baba to show him more love he has to overcome his battle about how he treated Hassan and apologize he never stands up for himself he fears Assef lonely and has no friends since Hassan is gone when Sohrab goes to the hospital, amir must pray and beg to god to keep him alive.
