Fever Pitch third blog

The environment is very important in this story. Nick lives in a suburban to London, here does he feel lonely, not many friends and nobody caring about him expect his single mom. His friend left Nick and his mom when he was young and this creates a big hole inside Nick together with the ”friend issue”. Nick’s family is also poor which leads to little food at home.

I think the story would be different without these factors. Football on this time was ”the poor man entertainment” and could fill Nick’s ”hole”. Because with football you share the pain and joy with other fans who cheer with on the same team. Without this ”hole” i don’t think Nick would search for activities like football. So the environment is very important.

Before I read this book could I slightly pinpoint how the environment would be. As a hardcore English football fan i know how it’s to follow football and it’s culture. Due to the fact i have traveled several times watching football and discussed football with suburban citizens. From here the told me their experience through the years and drew me a picture how it’s to be a football fan in England through the years.
